Typically, once your vehicle has been assigned for picked up by a car carrier, your deposit is then paid.  Deposits are usually paid in one of three ways.  The first is using a check by phone or fax system.  This is a very easy and convenient method of paying the deposit.  Some companies are giving discounts for paying with an electronic check.   Debit or credit cards are the other commonly used forms of payment for securing your deposit.

The remaining balance, of the total shipping cost, will be paid to the driver as he makes the delivery.   This is referred to as a COD which means “collect on delivery”.  Every auto carrier will demand some sort of certified funds – cash, money order, or cashier’s checks are the acceptable forms of payment.
